A key to healthier pets is an understanding of what causes pet illnesses. This is fundamental to developing better preventative care and treatments, and enables owners to make healthy choices for their pet and veterinarians to guide owners in making those choices.
Funding to support studies that develop better treatments and preventions for pet disease is largely non-existent in Australia.

Sadly in shelters, diseased pets are those most likely to be euthanased – often within hours of being handed into a pet shelter or pound.
