Our Mission

The mission of the Australian Pet Welfare Foundation (APWF) is to improve the health and welfare of pets, enrich the bond between pets and people and to help ensure that ALL adoptable pets find a forever home.

We do this by conducting research into better practices for shelters, pounds and municipalities in order to inform procedures and change ineffective legislation.  Equally, we focus on building community programs and partnerships all across the nation.

We are committed to getting to zero euthanasia of adoptable and treatable animals in Australian animal shelters in the next 10 years.
